About Supa Fik
Tolulope Yusuff, known professionally as Supa Fik, is a Nigerian-born Tourism Music Producer, artist, and multimedia technologist. He is the pioneer of “Afritronic,” a unique music genre that fuses African rhythms with electronic sounds. As a recognized Creative Technopreneur, Supa Fik merges immersive storytelling, high-end audio design, and international tourism through his platforms, Algarve Explore and Algarve Soundtrip, based in Portugal.
Early Life and Inspiration
Supa Fik’s journey into the arts began in the mid-1990s in Nigeria. At the age of seven, he became fascinated by the live street performances of the ANTP (Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners), often following traveling comedians and musicians from street to street.
Throughout his formative years, he was deeply involved in the arts:
-
Instrumentalist and Chorister: He mastered various instruments and sang in his church choir as an adolescent.
-
Dancer: He was a member of his primary school’s dance and song group and later a dance instructor at his uncle’s college.
-
Performing Artist: He maintained a strong stage presence through higher education as both a singer and dancer.
Despite his early stage presence, Supa Fik faced personal hurdles, including glossophobia (fear of public speaking) and a period of “voice confrontation,” where he struggled to accept the sound of his own recorded voice.
Career and Multimedia Expertise
Supa Fik’s professional career as a rapper began in 2012. He released an EP in 2014, followed by a full-length album in 2021 recorded at his brother’s studio. However, due to his perfectionism and ongoing voice confrontation, he later removed these works from streaming platforms.
While pursuing his education, he mastered a range of digital skills that defined his “Creative Technopreneur” status:
-
Graphic & Web Design: Building digital identities.
-
Animation: Creating moving visual stories.
-
Music Production: Crafting intricate soundscapes.
-
Filmmaking: In 2015, he won two series of the Street Project Foundation creative initiative, leading to an internship where he mastered cinematography, video editing, and directing.
The Birth of “Afritronic” and the Move to Portugal
A major turning point occurred when Supa Fik moved to Portugal to pursue his Master’s degree. This move allowed him to study tourism in depth, successfully blending these new insights with his multimedia expertise.
The evolution of technology allowed him to reawaken his musical vision. By merging music with tourism, he created the groundbreaking genre Afritronic, which blends:
-
Afro House & Amapiano
-
Afrobeats
-
Jazz, Soul, and Funk
Inspired by legends like Fela Kuti, King Sunny Ade, Lagbaja, Osunlade, and James Brown, Afritronic serves as a “Tourism Music” experience, reflecting the lives of travelers and expats.
Recent Projects: Afrotronic 3.0
Between late 2022 and early 2026, Supa Fik composed a massive body of work titled Afrotronic 3.0. The “3.0” represents 30 original tracks created while balancing his professional life and studies in Portugal.
-
Release Schedule: These tracks are set for a major rollout in 2026 across multiple albums and EPs.
-
Themes: His music captures the natural beauty of landscapes—beaches, rugged cliffs, spectacular mountains, and historic cities—making it a soundtrack for global exploration and the shared experiences of the expat community.
