Espera por mim – Supa Fik

You’re sitting in a quiet apartment in a city where no one knows your name, and you find yourself staring at a photo on your phone until the screen goes dark.

That is the heavy, silent weight of a promise made at an airport gate. “Espera por mim” (Wait for me) is for that exact anticipation; the deep, aching hope that the hearts we leave behind will still be there when we finally make our way back.

Chasing a dream often means crossing oceans and leaving behind the people who give our lives meaning, and I wrote this track to honor that massive sacrifice. It’s for the father working multiple jobs abroad or the dreamer studying in a cold room thousands of miles from their mother’s kitchen.

The lyrics “I am on a journey to another land” capture that specific, hollow loneliness that only hits when you realize just how far you’ve truly traveled. This is an intimate message from the soul to the people waiting back home. It’s a reminder that no matter how far the horizon stretches or how long the journey takes, your internal compass never actually changes.

Your heart stays anchored exactly where it truly belongs, lingering in the doorways of the home you left. It is a plea for patience and a testament to a love that is stronger than any timezone. This song is for the moments when the success you’ve found feels a little bit empty because you can’t share it in person. It’s the sound of a heart reaching across the water, holding onto a connection that refuses to break, no matter the distance.

“Distance is just a test to see how far love can travel. No matter where the dream takes you, your heart never truly leaves home.” — Supa Fik
